Utilisation

These pumps are used in sets as main or additional water pumping stations, for pressuring of water distribution lines, in water treatment plants and cooling stations. They find wide utilisation also in diverse industrial branches and agriculture, i.e. for pumping, distribution and cooling purposes and for field irrigation.

Technical description

This QVD pump casing, horizontally segmented in the shaft axis, is provided with its double volute. In the bottom casing part there are both pump branches horizontally arranged. This design arrangement enables to lay piping under the basement level. Its impeller is symmetric with both-sided axial water inlets. The pump shaft is packed with packing rings and bedded in two roller bearings. Its bearing bodies are provided with thermometer bulbs with remote monitoring of bearing temperature.

Material

The QVD pumps are standardly available in LU modification with following main parts:
- volute with throttling bushes and bearing bodies made of high-grade cast iron
- impeller with its packing rings and shaft sleeves made of chromium steel
- packing rings of casing made of grey cast iron
- pump shaft made of carbon steel

Stuffing box

Both stuffing boxes are packed with soft packing cords.
